We are “Built Green Colorado” Green. Or maybe we should say Built Better.
Owning an environmentally friendly house doesn’t mean making sacrifices. In fact, a Built Green Colorado house is one of the most high-performance, durable, and resource-efficient homes you can buy.
Built Green Colorado is a voluntary green building program that serves as a blueprint for healthier, more comfortable homes, which reduce utility bills and protect the environment. The homeowner benefits include:
Savings on operating, health, and repair costs Conservation of resources and energy Improved indoor air and water quality Quiet, comfortable, and durable
Built Green Colorado was developed by the Metro Denver Home Builders Association in cooperation with E-Star and is one of the fastest growing and most comprehensive program of its kind in the country. In order to be certified under the Built Green Colorado program, a home must undergo rigorous third-party inspections for compliance along with performance testing. The following areas are evaluated:
Site planning Energy efficient techniques, equipment, and performance Resource efficient design and materials Waste management Indoor air quality Water conservation Home buyer education and opportunities Builder operations |

In 2003, Scott Homes, Ltd., became the first builder in Woodland Park and Teller County, Colorado making the commitment to construct 100% of our new homes to the Built Green Colorado standard – a commitment that continues today.
In 2007, Scott Homes, Ltd., became the only builder in Woodland Park and Teller County Colorado to make the commitment to construct our new homes to the Energy Star Standards.
In December of 2008, Scott Homes, ltd., became the first Woodland Park and Teller County Builder to receive the prestigious Certified Green Professional designation from the National Association of Home Builders. Scott Homes, Ltd., aspires to the Code of Ethics for the CGP designation.
